1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating a Stelar account or using any part of usestelar.com (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. Stelar is operated by Cynosuirc Tech Labs ("we", "us", "our").
These Terms form a binding contract between you and Cynosuirc Tech Labs. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create a Stelar account. If you're under 18, you must also have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the Service and to subscribe to a paid plan. Stelar is a tool for adults to make storybooks for children — it is not directed at children, and children may not hold accounts.
You represent that the information you give us when registering is accurate and complete, and that you'll keep it current.
3. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately at hello@usestelar.com if you think your account has been compromised. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably suspect are being misused.
4. Acceptable use
Stelar is built for children's stories. You agree you will not:
- use Stelar to generate sexual, violent, hateful, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate content — especially involving minors;
- upload, prompt, or share content that exploits or harms minors in any way, including content that violates Nigerian law on child protection;
- infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights;
- use the Service to harass, dox, or impersonate another person;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or otherwise disrupt the Service or its providers;
- resell, sublicense, or rent out your account or BYOK keys without our written permission;
- use Stelar in a way that violates applicable Nigerian law or the law of the country you're in.
We use automated child-safety guardrails on story generation, accept user reports of inappropriate content via public share links, and reserve the right to remove any content, suspend accounts, or ban repeat offenders without refund.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Stelar offers three plans, all billed monthly in USD via Paystack:
- The Spark (Free) — $0/mo. A starter allowance to try the Service.
- The Librarian (Pro) — $9.99/mo. Expanded limits and access to all art styles.
- The Archmage (Unlimited) — $24.99/mo. Highest limits, all export formats, and Bring-Your-Own-Key support.
Paid plans renew automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. After cancellation, you keep access until the end of the current billing period, after which your account reverts to The Spark.
Plan names, prices, and features may change. We'll give you at least 14 days' notice before any price increase affects your existing subscription.
6. Refunds and cancellations
- Subscriptions are billed in advance and are non-refundable for partial billing periods — you can cancel at any time and retain access through the end of the period you've already paid for.
- If you cancel during a free trial (where offered), you won't be charged.
- We may issue a refund at our discretion where Stelar failed to deliver the Service, where you were charged in clear error, or where required by Nigerian consumer-protection law.
- To request a refund, email hello@usestelar.com with your account email and the charge you'd like reviewed.
- Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us may result in account suspension pending review.
7. Your content
"Your Content" means anything you create, upload, or generate using Stelar — including story text, character details, prompts, and illustrations. You own Your Content and are solely responsible for it.
You grant Stelar and Cynosuirc Tech Labs a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely as needed to operate the Service for you — for example, generating illustrations, rendering your flipbook, and, if you choose to publish, displaying it at usestelar.com/s/<slug>.
We do not use Your Content to train AI models. Prompts and outputs are sent to our AI providers only to fulfil your generation request.
You represent that you have all rights needed to upload any input you provide, and that Your Content does not violate these Terms or anyone else's rights.
8. AI-generated content
Story text and illustrations produced by Stelar are generated by third-party AI models (Groq, OpenRouter, KIE.ai, Fal.ai, or your BYOK provider). The copyright status of AI-generated material varies by jurisdiction. To the extent any AI output is protectable, it is treated as part of Your Content under Section 7.
AI can make mistakes. Stories may include factual errors, biased language, or unintended motifs. You are responsible for reviewing Your Content before sharing or publishing it — especially content intended for children.
9. Public sharing
When you publish a story, Stelar generates a public URL at usestelar.com/s/<slug>. Anyone with the link can view the published flipbook, its title, byline, and page count.
To enable social previews, we may generate link-preview cards (title, cover image) for sharing platforms. You can unpublish a story at any time from the dashboard; the public URL will stop working immediately.
If you believe a published story violates these Terms or your rights, use the report control on the story page or email legal@usestelar.com.
10. Moderation and takedown
We operate a user-flagging system on public share links. Reported stories are reviewed by Stelar administrators. We may dismiss false reports, remove the story and notify its author, suspend the author's account, or refer the matter to the appropriate authorities where the law requires it. All moderation decisions are logged.
Where a published story is removed, the public URL becomes unavailable. The author retains a copy in their dashboard unless we determine that retention is unlawful.
11. Stelar's intellectual property
The Service itself — the Stelar name and logo, the website design, the wizard, the flipbook viewer, and our software — is owned by Cynosuirc Tech Labs and protected by intellectual-property law. Nothing in these Terms gives you any right to use the Stelar name, trademarks, or trade dress without our prior written consent.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate, safe, or appropriate for any particular child.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cynosuirc Tech Labs and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including any harm arising from AI-generated content you shared or published.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) the equivalent of two months of your subscription. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Cynosuirc Tech Labs and its operators harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
15. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your account is inactive for an extended period, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, indemnity, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will remain in effect.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the competent courts of Nigeria, subject to your rights under the NDPA to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Stelar evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the most recent version. For material changes we'll notify you in-product or by email before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
